Hi folks! This entry is actually about two new skulls I found in the mountain forest in November 2018. I will describe them, show pictures of them, tell you the story how I found them and compare them to similar skulls I recently have. One of these skulls was a "holy grail", I always wanted to find such one by my own. So, let's meet under the cut!

Two feathers I found recently. The little black one is from a crow, so nothing special. The bigger one is from a long-eared owl! It was very wasted when I found it and I never expected an owl feather. I just took it because I thought it's from a red kite and I wanted the challenge to clean a scruffy feather again ;D

Hello folks! I was wondering about which skull I should write today and my choice fell on a wild boar skull, a young specimen. I don't know if you have special names for young boars, but in the German language we call baby wild boars "freshlings" and teenager boars are "renegades" xD. Last name is used until the young boar is about two years old and ready to leave the pack (is a group of wild boars called a pack in English?). Well, at least the young males will leave, the females will stay by their mother. Read more under the cut!

Hello vultures and carrion eaters! I had the pleasure to find some more stag beetles at the beach - YAY! I can hardly handle that luck, but I'm so happy that I found a whole dead one!!! No damage, no smell, just pure perfection! Oh my god!!!! See more under the cut!

... I like 'em chunky!
Yes! I really like big things and that also counts for big insects (as long as they don't suck my blood and stuff). I had the pleasure to meet one big exemplar at the beach and that encounter is the reason why I write down the story about my "big bug"-exhibits I found lately. But let's see more under the cut!
